Dr. Dre's Detox get Release Date
First we heard it was going to drop on 4/20, which we soon found out to be untrue. Now Dre is saying it will be out on 4/1. Y'all thinking what I'm thinking, right?
Atmosphere - The Family Sign drop April 12
Atmosphere, the preeminent independent hip-hop duo comprised MC Slug and producer Ant, reassert their status as legends of the genre with the release of their most realized, streamlined effort to date, The Family Sign, due April 12th on Rhymesayers Entertainment. Slug and Ant have distinguished themselves from their peers by composing albums encompassing the entire spectrum of human emotion while tethering each piece to a central aural aesthetic. Performances of this size are, simply put, an unparalleled precedent for an independent artist. Atmosphere have steadily looked forward and continued to retain a tremendous fan-base, finding favor in new, young listeners while their peers are mired in nostalgia and stagnancy.

J Dilla: Behind the Beat Poster
Back in 2005, photographer Raph Rashid was hoping to complete a book of hip-hop home studios by getting pics of J Dilla at work in Los Angeles. Unknown to all but a small circle of people at the time, J Dilla had been in and out of the hospital all year dealing with increasingly serious health problems. It was in summer, during a brief period when Dilla was home, working on his album The Shining, looking and feeling good, when Raph came to take this picture, published with others later that year in his book Behind the Beat: Hip-Hop Home Studios.
I just copped one, now I recommend that you do the same.

Spitta also secured a label deal with Warner for his imprint, Jets International. He has hopes to drop disc by his affiliates Fiend and Young Roddy, who have appeared on his Pilot Talk 1 & 2 albums, which both dropped in 2010 through a distribution deal with Def Jam. – XXL
His first release for the 'Bros will be an EP out on 4/20. Covert Coup will be produced entirely by the Alchemist.
